CPP and keys

I am waiting like alot of the rest of the poor kids of the world to play with this new OS. I am planning on installing it on my HP laptop (AMD64), but maybe down the road a bit (once I determine its safe) on my main pc. Will I have this option like MSDN and Technet'ers or am I just plan old fashioned screwed?

Well, the CPP will be available within the next 3-4 weeks, and they'll have keys for that. So just hold on tight, and don't worry :o)

One key will support either 10 or 25 of the same copy of Vista. Not 100% because the terms haven't been announced yet, but it almost certainly won't be 1 copy of Vista, 1 key :o)

It can't be 10 to 25, well it hasn't been determined yet, so even assuming or predicting is out. Different groups have different priviledges, but I would recommend they allow the Public to spread Vista as much as possible. -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

As do I. It would make no sense for a end user like myself to be able to test this on only 1 machine. I have to very different computers and will handle Vista differently.

It is not the key, but the number of activations allowed that is important.

Very correct Colin, I think they want to save some of the keys for RTM, LOL. :) -- -- Andre Windows Connected | http://www.windowsconnected.com Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta

go to betaexperience site. choose to download office 2007. login if required. when you get at the point where you need to enter your e-mail address again: press back in your browser, and then quickly press stop. there should be an url that contains "office.aspx", change that to "vista.aspx", and press enter. (if it doesn't, go back to start) you will now have a key. press back to get another one.
muahahaaaa ;)
you'll also get a mail that starts with this: "Thank you for your interest in Microsoft Windows Vista Beta 2. This email contains information on how to access the download and the Product Key (below) you will need to install Windows Vista. You may install Beta 2 on up to 10 PCs using the same Product Key."

use your keyboard to press back and stop, it's faster. btw, you can use a similar approach (a bit more complex) to order the dvds, which seem to cost €16 :)
anyway, just wait till they officially release the beta. you can't download it from them yet anyway, the links in that mail don't work.
